The bouquet is defined by subtle cassis and plum aromatics, accentuated with notes of dried herbs and graphite. On the palate, a rounded and lush entry alludes to those perfectly sunny days that graced us through the late summer, capturing dense black fruits and finishing with enticing notes of vanilla and pastry. Immensely enjoyable now, this wine has the refreshing acidity and velvety chocolate tannins that should allow it to age gracefully over the next 3 to 5 years.

Outliers are the fellow pioneers, the innovators, the ones who defy the norms to follow their own paths. While our flagship wines demonstrate the art of the blend, The Outlier Project tends to our curiosity in exploring another viewpoint… that wines of a single varietal and vineyard site can speak their own beautiful and artful expression. In Year One of this project, we study Petit Verdot, sourced from a very small individual block on the estate, aptly named Outlier.
Deeply purple with vibrant aromas of black plums, violets and sweet vanilla, our first ever bottling of Petit Verdot greets you with crisp acidity and a depth of dark fruits on the attack. Richness and density fill the palate and ample fine grain tannins build through the finish, leaving just a hint of lingering espresso. Complex and concentrated, it’s a wine that can be enjoyed now but should also age quite well.
